MELANIE O'Brien, attorney

Melanie O’Brien began her legal career representing private landlord clients in unlawful detainer lawsuits actions. Ms. O’Brien has advised numerous landlord clients regarding tenants’ rights under local rent ordinances and California law. Ms. O’Brien honed her negotiation skills by volunteering with the Bar Association of San Francisco at settlement conferences in the housing department of San Francisco Superior Court. She was recently selected as an Outstanding Volunteer for her work with the Justice and Diversity Center at the Bar Association of San Francisco.

Ms. O’Brien’s practice areas include housing/landlord liability, property damage, and personal injury. She primarily concentrates her practice in defending habitability actions against owners and managers of residential hotels.
